What Does TaxDrop Do?

We handle your entire property tax protest from start to finish. State-licensed consultants file the paperwork, pull local comps, build your evidence package, and represent you at the hearing if one is needed.

You enter your address, answer a few questions and we do everything else.

What Do I Still Need to Do?

Other than giving us your name, address, and signing your county's agent authorization form, you don't lift a finger. No research. No phone calls to the county. No hearings to attend.

If we need something specific from you (rare — usually only for unique properties), we'll text and email you, or set up a call when needed.

Who is TaxDrop For?

Homeowners and landlords in Texas and California (more states coming in 2027). We work with single-family homes, condos, townhomes, rental properties, industrial, and commercial buildings. We do not cover agricultural land at this time.

What Happens After I Signup?

Upon completing signup, you will receive an email and SMS with a link to access your dashboard. You will also receive email and SMS updates as we progress through your case - when we file, when hearing dates are set, when we have results.

Most Texas CADs provide a protest status results and refunds between late May and September of the filing year.

Most California CADs resolve cases within 6-12 months of filing.

Do I Need to Provide Any Documents?

For residential properties - usually no. We pull property records, comps, and assessment data ourselves. For unusual cases (major damage, recent renovations, rental income disputes), we may ask for documentation, but we'll tell you exactly what we need and why.

For commercial and industrial properties, we will need financial documents and will provide a detailed list of what's required to build your best case.

How Much Does It Cost?

25% of what we save you. That's it. And no savings = no cost at all.

Example: if we save you $1,000 this year, our fee is $250

We also monitor for increases in future years and will protest for a reduction again if necessary. For each successful annual protest reduction, the fee is 25%.

If your county has filing fees, we even cover those for you. So, you never pay more than 25% of savings.

When Do You Charge Me?

Only after we win and the savings are confirmed by the county. Never upfront.

Your card on file is only charged once your reduction is official and your savings are documented.

Can I Protest if I Pay Taxes in Escrow?

Most property owners pay their property taxes through their mortgage lender's escrow, and can still protest for a fair assessment to save.

The lowered tax bill would go to your lender and result in reduced monthy mortgage payments all year!

How Will You Win My Case?

First, we need to determine if and by how much your property tax assessment is over the market value.

We pull comparable assessments and sales ("comps") from your neighborhood — homes of similar size, age, and condition that sold or are assessed lower. Then we build a valuation argument based on the lowest defensible number the county will accept.

Every case gets a custom evidence package built by a licensed consultant. Where many consultants provide a few sentences ands comp addresses as evidence, we built a robust package using AI and machine learning, with access to the largest property record database in the US. We'll use Google Streetview images, map out comp distances, calculate variances, and provide a sophisticated and data-supported case.

Our seasoned and TDLR-licensed Property Tax Consultants present your evidence to the county assessor and attend ARB hearings on your behalf when needed to win.

How Does Automatic Monitoring Work?

After you sign with TaxDrop, we'll automically monitor for future assessment increases each year. If we see your assessment is too high and requires a protest, we'll send you a message and prepare to file a new protest. You can opt out at any time if you wish to discontinue.
